Mental Health Services

Cindi Lopez is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and a resource for students at every campus.  She brings over 30 years of experience in social and mental health services.

Ms. Lopez graduated from Southwestern Adventist University in 1990 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, then again from Tarleton State University in 1998 with her Master's Degree in Education, Guidance, and Counseling. She became an LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) in 2003.

After working as a child and adolescent therapist in a clinical setting, Ms. Lopez opened a private practice in March 2006 to focus primarily on providing trauma-based therapy services to children in the foster care system. She was in private practice until July 2021 prior to moving to Keene ISD in August 2021.

Ms. Lopez provides mental health and emotional support services to students in the junior high and high school primarily, and to the elementary campuses as needed. She also provides support services and resources to parents of our students upon request.

Ms. Lopez believes that children learn better when their mental health is strong. Having a confidential place where students can talk and learn healthy ways of coping will help them perform better in the classroom and provide the support and reassurance they need to face future challenges.

If you have any questions and would like to know more about any of the services provided, please contact the counseling department.
