About KISD
Keene Independent School District is an up-and-coming school district in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. About 45 miles from downtown Dallas, Keene ISD is open for transfers and serves Keene, Cleburne, Joshua, Alvarado, and surrounding areas.
Keene ISD serves over 1000 students across 4 campuses, Keene Elementary (PK-2), The Summit Leadership Academy (3-5), Keene Junior High (6-8), and Keene High School (9-12). Keene offers unique innovation while embracing the small-town feel. Students and staff are equipped with one-to-one Apple iPads (K-8) and one-to-one Apple MacBooks (9-12), and have the opportunity to explore different career paths, as well as explore life after high school, from the comfort of the classroom.
We're proud of the innovation and excellence Keene represents, as well as our continued commitment to our students and staff through the Keene 22 and Ignite Program. KISD seeks to create students who are no longer takers of learning, but makers of learning, and put our students at the very forefront of our focus. Though Keene may be small, there's no question as to why Keene is the right place for every student, every teacher, and every parent.
"Keene ISD is family, and as a family, we are committed to providing our students big school opportunities in a small school environment. What makes this possible? Our desire and ability to know each student by name and need and then be able to focus on that need every day."Dr. Ricky Stephens, Superintendent
