Hello! My name is Adrienne Malmberg, and I am pleased to be a part of the Keene Junior High School English Department. I joined KJHS in the Fall of 2015, and look forward to serving this amazing community for years to come.
Originally from Seattle, my family and I moved here to Texas in the summer of 2013. Although I miss some of the beauty and terrain of the Pacific Northwest, I relish the sunny days and wonderful people here in this great state. There's a bumper sticker that goes something like this: "I wasn't born in Texas, but I got here as fast as I could!" It's exactly the way I feel about Texas.
My background is varied, which I believe gives me a unique perspective when teaching our students. I have a Business Management degree from Pacific Christian College, am a former business owner (doing freelance bookkeeping and managing our family's remodeling business), a past substitute teacher at Springtown ISD, a former US Census Bureau employee, and also a former seSavervice industry worker. Because I have worked in both blue- and white- collar professions, it allows me to help students understand the purpose and scope of their learning. I strive to give students the "whys" of what they are doing every day, which in turn gives them motivation and an idea of where their studies fit in with the rest of their lives.
I am proud to serve the students and community here in Keene, and I look forward to helping our Chargers achieve excellence!
